Charlotte, June 2026 – Organizers of the upcoming 2027 Military World Games have formally requested $23 million in city support as preparations intensify for the international sporting event.
The funding proposal includes a mix of tourism-tax allocations and in-kind services from the city. Charlotte officials are currently reviewing the request, which would help cover operational and infrastructure needs as the city gears up to host one of the largest global sporting events in its history.
Charlotte was selected as the host city for the Games, which are expected to bring more than 10,000 athletes from over 100 countries. The event is anticipated to deliver significant economic and cultural benefits, showcasing the Queen City on the world stage.
