The Persimmon Charitable Foundation has launched its second funding round, offering £150,000 to support UK-based charities working to improve employment opportunities for young people, particularly those facing barriers such as economic hardship or being not in education, employment, or training (NEET).
The funding programme focuses on projects that support employability for young people aged 14 to 25, especially in areas affected by social and economic deprivation. The initiative is designed to expand access to funding for charities delivering skills development, training, and pathways into work.
The foundation, which began its programme in 2025, aims to improve outcomes for disadvantaged young people by supporting organisations that help them build confidence, gain work experience, and enter employment or further education.
In a previous round, several organisations including the Hamara Healthy Living Centre in Leeds, the Newcastle United Foundation, and The Benjamin Foundation in Norfolk each received £50,000 to deliver youth-focused employment initiatives.
The current application round is open until 11:59pm on June 21, with successful applicants expected to be announced in September. The foundation has encouraged eligible charities working in employability and youth development to apply.
The Persimmon Charitable Foundation stated that the programme is intended to strengthen long-term opportunities for young people, particularly in communities where access to employment support is limited, by investing in targeted, locally delivered initiatives.
