Wingham, Ontario — May 28, 2026 — The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation has announced more than $2.6 million in funding to support patient care and hospital improvements during the 2025–2026 fiscal year. The investment will deliver essential medical equipment and upgrades that directly benefit patients across the region.
A significant portion of the funding includes final installments for major projects, ensuring that the hospital can continue to modernize its facilities and expand services. Foundation leaders emphasized that the contribution reflects the community’s commitment to strengthening healthcare access and quality for residents.
The announcement highlights the Foundation’s ongoing role in supporting the Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance (LWHA), with recent spending directed toward sanitation, diagnostic imaging, and infrastructure upgrades. By channeling donor support into critical equipment and services, the Foundation ensures that Wingham Hospital remains equipped to meet growing healthcare needs.
Foundation President & CEO Nicole Duquette noted that the funding underscores the importance of community partnerships in sustaining local healthcare. “These investments are about more than equipment — they’re about ensuring patients receive the best possible care close to home,” she said.
