Additionally, the winner will receive mentorship from an acclaimed filmmaker. Three finalists will also be selected, with special consideration for entry into Panavision’s New Filmmaker Program, discounted film stock from Kodak for those shooting on film, and mentorship from an award-winning filmmaker.
Eligibility for the program is open to all U.S. filmmakers, regardless of prior film experience. Alongside the script and pitch materials, applicants may submit any previous works of art they have created, such as films, photography, music, drawings, or writings. The selection process emphasizes artistic vision over extensive industry backgrounds, with winners and finalists chosen solely based on script and pitch materials without regard to age, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
