The Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) has set a deadline of February 27, 2025, for applications in its Emerging Research Grants Program. This program is aimed at supporting researchers, particularly those in the early stages of their careers, who are focusing on areas such as hearing loss, hearing restoration, and related conditions. Senior investigators can also apply for grants in specific topics related to hearing and balance.
Applicants for the Elizabeth M. Keithley, Ph.D. Early Stage Investigator Awards, previously known as the “General Hearing Health” grants, can submit proposals on various research areas within the field of hearing and balance. These topics include age-related hearing loss, auditory and vestibular implants, central auditory processing disorder, diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss, and more.
The grant funding is limited to $50,000 for one Project Year or $100,000 for one Project Period, with approvals granted for a period of one year. Eligibility criteria require applicants to have relevant research experience, institutional support, and hold an M.D., Ph.D., Au.D., or equivalent degree. Applicants must be affiliated with a non-profit educational, governmental, or research institution in the United States.
Early Stage Investigators must be within 10 years of completing their terminal degree and demonstrate a pathway to independence in their research careers. Applicants with current or prior major independent research awards are ineligible for certain grants. International applicants and those seeking research continuation funding are also not eligible.
