The Estonian Cultural Capital is hosting an essay contest titled “The Next 100 Years of Estonian Culture” and is seeking submissions that reflect the author’s views on Estonian culture, the Cultural Capital, or cultural policy. Participants are encouraged to explore where Estonian culture stands currently, how it can progress, and how to shape its future. The theme of the contest revolves around envisioning the next century of Estonian culture.
Entries will be reviewed by a jury comprising Cultural Capital Council members, endowment representatives, and the press. Winners will be awarded cash prizes determined by the Cultural Endowment: 4000 euros for first place, 2000 euros for second place, and 1000 euros for third place.
The competition is open to all individuals except for those involved in organizing the contest or serving as jury members. Each participant is allowed to submit one original essay for consideration. Essays can take any form but must be unpublished prior to the contest announcement. Submissions must be sent via email in PDF format to the organization’s official email address.
By entering the competition, authors agree to grant the Cultural Foundation first publication rights for the submitted work. The Cultural Foundation may also feature the essays on its website or Facebook page with the author’s consent. Participants must include their contact information (name, email, phone number) when submitting their essays.
