The U.S. Embassy in Kosovo has introduced the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) with a deadline of 15th December 2024. This program offers a scholarship for one semester of non-degree academic study at a U.S. college or university to emerging student leaders.
The goal of the program is to help participants gain a better understanding of the United States and improve their leadership skills through academic coursework, community service, and professional development activities.
To be eligible for the Global UGRAD Program, applicants must be at least 18 years old by August of the relevant academic year and enrolled as full-time undergraduate students in good academic standing at accredited institutions. They must also have at least one full academic year of undergraduate study remaining after May of the relevant academic year of participation. Additionally, applicants need to demonstrate proficiency in English with a minimum TOEFL score requirement and a commitment to community service. Preference is given to those with limited or no prior experience in the U.S. or abroad, and applicants must commit to returning to their home countries after completing the program.
On the other hand, certain individuals are ineligible for the program, including U.S. citizens and permanent residents, those already participating in academic programs in the U.S., individuals residing or working outside participating countries, and those who have previously participated in U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs for more than six weeks. Further details and application guidelines can be found on the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo website.
