The Durban FilmMart Pitch and Finance Forum, taking place on 19 January 2025, is accepting applications for both animation and live action projects in development from filmmakers across Africa. The event covers travel expenses, including one round-trip flight and accommodation for one project representative. Eligible applicants must have African citizenship, either as a producer, director, or writer, or be Africans living in the Diaspora. Projects must have a producer and director attached. Non-African industry professionals seeking African partners can attend as delegates by registering and paying a fee. The application process allows for the submission of multiple projects, but only one per applicant per cycle will be selected. Successful applicants must prove ownership of all intellectual property rights. A single representative must attend the entire program, which includes mentorship from May to July 2025 and in-person participation in July 2025. Acknowledgment and use of Durban FilmMart branding on project materials are required, and any alterations to program guidelines will be communicated publicly. For more details, visit the Durban FilmMart Institute website.
