The scholarship award is $1,000, granted at the start of the recipient’s first year of college and is not renewable. Only one scholarship is awarded annually. Eligible applicants are high school seniors planning to major in English or History at the college level, selected based on their intellectual potential, creativity, and character. The application requirements include a high school transcript, a recommendation letter from an English or History teacher, a four-page application, and an original 1,500-word essay.
