On July 13, 2025, more than 900 participants gathered at Seward Park in Seattle for the 32nd annual Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) Rivkin Family SummeRun. The event, a 5K run/walk, brought together survivors, families, friends, and supporters in a collective effort to raise awareness and funds to combat ovarian cancer.
This year’s SummeRun successfully raised over $320,000, which will go toward the next round of Rivkin Pilot Grants. These grants are instrumental in funding early-stage, high-impact research projects aimed at advancing breakthroughs across all areas of ovarian cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The SummeRun was founded by Dr. Saul Rivkin in memory of his wife, Marsha Rivkin, and has become a cornerstone fundraising event in the ovarian cancer research community. Since its inception, the event has raised over $10 million. The legacy continues under the leadership of Melissa Rivkin, a member of OCRA’s Board of Directors and daughter of the founder.
The 2025 event highlighted the ongoing community commitment to research and support for those affected by ovarian cancer, underscoring the vital role of donors, volunteers, and sponsors in driving progress toward a cure.
