Mama Cash has launched the 2025 round of its Spark Fund grant, open for applications from 1 to 31 August 2025. The grant supports feminist activism in the Netherlands and the ABCSSS islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten), offering €5,000 to €7,000 per project to groups of women, girls, trans, and intersex people.
The funding targets self-led groups, meaning the people whose rights are at stake must be the primary decision-makers in the group and in how funds are used. Eligible groups must work from a feminist perspective, addressing sexism, patriarchal norms, and advancing the rights of women, girls, and trans and intersex communities. Projects must focus on the specific needs of these communities and propose sustainable, rights-based solutions.
Eligible groups can also be those addressing urgent political and social issues in their regions or working for systemic and structural change—such as migrant women’s groups advocating for housing access or Muslim women organizing around religious freedom.
The Spark Fund prioritizes non-formalised or new groups with limited resources and annual budgets below €50,000. Groups do not need to be registered or have a bank account or ID to apply. Applications are accepted in English or Dutch via an online form, video, or audio recording. Applicants using other languages can contact Mama Cash for accommodations.
Applications will be reviewed by Mama Cash’s Advisory Network, and decisions will be communicated by 16 October 2025.
