The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Moldcell have strengthened their partnership to advance family-friendly and age-friendly workplace policies, improve reproductive health awareness and support employee well-being throughout different stages of life.
The new cooperation builds on previous collaboration between UNFPA and the Moldcell Foundation, which has supported initiatives focused on family-friendly policies and active ageing through digital skills development. The renewed partnership aims to expand these efforts by creating healthier, more inclusive workplaces across Moldova.
Under the new Memorandum of Understanding, UNFPA and Moldcell will work together to promote workplace practices that respond to the changing needs of employees and families. The initiatives will include support for employees with young children, youth-friendly workplace measures, women’s health programmes, violence prevention efforts and greater awareness around menopause and related workplace support.
UNFPA Representative in the Republic of Moldova Karina Nersesyan highlighted the importance of investing in people during a period of demographic change and transformation in the world of work. She noted that businesses that prioritize health, families and employee well-being can contribute to more inclusive societies and sustainable development.
Moldcell Chief Executive Officer Carolina Bugaian emphasized the company’s commitment to social responsibility through partnerships that create long-term positive impact. The collaboration with UNFPA aims to build an environment where people can access information, opportunities and services that support their health and quality of life.
Through the partnership, Moldcell will introduce workplace childcare services and implement programmes focused on reproductive and maternal health, menopause support, violence prevention and other initiatives designed to improve employee well-being.
The agreement will also support joint awareness campaigns, community engagement activities and advocacy efforts to encourage equal opportunities and healthier workplace practices.
UNFPA continues to engage with private sector partners to address demographic changes and promote policies that support people throughout their lives. The partnership with Moldcell reflects a shared commitment to building inclusive, resilient and people-centred workplaces that contribute to Moldova’s sustainable development.
