Northern Trust has been appointed by TirNua Capital Partners to provide fund administration, depositary, and banking services for its inaugural infrastructure investment fund. The Dublin-based fund has secured €340 million in commitments at its first close and is focused on supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy through investments in critical infrastructure projects.
TirNua Capital Partners is a private markets investment manager specializing in infrastructure investments that contribute to sustainability and climate goals. The company was established as an independent employee-managed business through a joint venture between Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM) and a global private markets investment firm. Its primary focus is on opportunities in Ireland, while also considering investments across other OECD countries.
The infrastructure fund will target sectors that are essential for reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable development. These sectors include renewable energy generation, energy efficiency projects, renewable fuels, clean transportation systems, and other forms of infrastructure that support environmental sustainability and economic growth.
Northern Trust will leverage its extensive experience in private capital and alternative investment structures to support the fund throughout its investment lifecycle. The firm provides a broad range of asset servicing solutions, including fund administration, custody, banking, and operational support for complex investment strategies across multiple asset classes.
The partnership highlights growing investor interest in sustainable infrastructure and climate-focused investments. By combining TirNua’s expertise in low-carbon infrastructure with Northern Trust’s fund servicing capabilities, the collaboration aims to support long-term investments that contribute to Ireland’s energy transition, economic development, and environmental objectives.
