Missouri River Historical Development (MRHD) has officially opened applications for its 2026 Economic Development Match Grant (EDMG) program, offering up to $1 million in funding to support community growth and quality-of-life initiatives across Woodbury County, Iowa.
The annual grant program is designed to assist local organizations working on projects that drive economic development, strengthen communities, and improve services for residents. This year, MRHD has allocated $1 million for distribution, with individual grant awards ranging from $250,000 to $1 million.
Since the launch of the EDMG program, MRHD has invested millions of dollars into transformative projects throughout the Siouxland region. Previous funding has supported childcare expansion, workforce development programs, healthcare and mental health services, entrepreneurship initiatives, riverfront redevelopment efforts, and major infrastructure improvements.
Organizations selected for funding must provide a dollar-for-dollar match for their proposed projects. Grant funds are distributed as reimbursements once matching contributions have been secured and project expenses are incurred.
Applications will be accepted through June 30, 2026. Finalists are expected to be contacted in July as part of the evaluation and selection process.
The continued investment through the EDMG program reflects MRHD’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth and supporting projects that create lasting benefits for communities throughout Woodbury County.
