The Westfield Education Foundation has awarded nearly $130,000 in scholarships and educational awards to 86 graduating seniors from Westfield High School as part of its annual awards programme for the Class of 2026.
The scholarship initiative, which also included support for one alumni recipient, recognized nearly 12 percent of the graduating class and was funded through contributions from community partners, local businesses, families, alumni, and donor-supported legacy funds.
Foundation officials said the awards reflect the organization’s long-standing commitment to helping students pursue higher education, trade programmes, certifications, and career-focused opportunities. The programme coincides with the foundation’s 40th anniversary celebration, marking four decades of educational support within the Westfield community.
According to Ashley Knott, each scholarship represents an investment by donors who want to help students achieve their academic and professional goals. The foundation currently manages 54 scholarship and award programmes supporting a broad range of career pathways.
Recipients from the Class of 2026 plan to study fields including engineering, healthcare, education, business, architecture, communications, construction management, agriculture, public service, technology, skilled trades, and the arts. Students will attend universities and colleges across the United States, including Purdue University, Indiana University Bloomington, Ball State University, Butler University, and Boston University.
John Atha said the scholarships demonstrate the community’s commitment to encouraging students and supporting their long-term success.
The foundation also announced plans to expand future scholarship partnerships as student interest continues to grow in fields such as artificial intelligence, pharmaceutical sciences, environmental studies, finance, healthcare, biomedical sciences, psychology, communications, and skilled trades.
Since its establishment in 1986, the Westfield Education Foundation has awarded more than 1,300 scholarships and nearly 600 teacher grants, helping support educational programmes and student development across Westfield Washington Schools.
