Swedfund, the Swedish government’s development finance institution, has committed US$600,000 to Jacaranda Maternity to support the expansion of affordable, high-quality maternal healthcare services in Kenya. The investment is aimed at strengthening access to safe maternity and neonatal care, particularly for women living in low- and middle-income communities in and around Nairobi.
Jacaranda Maternity has built its reputation by offering patient-centred maternity services at prices that are significantly lower than those charged by traditional private healthcare providers. This positions the organisation as an important bridge between overcrowded public hospitals and costly private facilities, helping more women access quality maternal care that is both safe and affordable.
The new funding from Swedfund will be used to expand Jacaranda Maternity’s hospital network by opening additional facilities and strengthening its existing services.
