The Nicholas Martini Foundation has announced a $500,000 scholarship funding agreement aimed at supporting college-bound students from Passaic High School in New Jersey. The initiative was unveiled during the 2026 Passaic High School Scholarship Day ceremonies and is intended to provide long-term financial assistance to graduating students pursuing higher education.
The program is being developed in collaboration with the Passaic Optimist Friend of Youth Foundation and will be overseen by Trustee Jerome F. Gallagher, Esq. The funding is expected to support scholarships over a period of 10 to 15 years, offering sustained educational opportunities for future graduating classes.
Under the agreement, eligible students will receive annual scholarship support, with renewal awards available throughout their college education. Continued funding will be based on factors such as financial need, academic performance, extracurricular involvement, and community service.
In addition to the new agreement, the Passaic Optimist Foundation is expected to award $128,000 in scholarships in 2026, which includes a $60,000 contribution from the Nicholas Martini Foundation. The organizations have a long-standing partnership focused on expanding access to education and supporting youth development in the community.
Foundation representatives emphasized that the program is designed to create lasting educational impact by reducing financial barriers for students pursuing college degrees. The initiative builds on decades of philanthropic work supporting students in Passaic and surrounding areas.
The Nicholas Martini Foundation, founded in 1986, has historically focused on educational access and youth support across New Jersey communities. The Passaic Optimist Friend of Youth Foundation similarly works to promote youth development through scholarships, mentoring, and community engagement.
