The Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF), the social equity arm of the Rajasthan Royals cricket franchise, has successfully completed training four solar engineers and electrifying 260 rural homes through solar power under its flagship campaign, Pink Promise. This initiative leverages the popularity of cricket to promote women-led transformation in rural Rajasthan and other regions. Supported by Principal Sponsor Luminous Power Technologies and implemented on the ground by Bindi International, the project has brought clean, reliable solar energy to 200 homes in the Sambhar block of Jaipur district, Rajasthan, and 60 homes in Assam, advancing equitable energy access for underserved communities.
Pink Promise is part of RRF’s larger mission to harness the platform of sport to promote equity, dignity, and opportunities for women’s empowerment. Since 2019, the foundation’s efforts have positively impacted over 15.2 million women, guided by the motto: “Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai — With Her, We Rise.” The campaign was formally launched on April 6, 2024, during an IPL match where the Rajasthan Royals wore all-pink kits bearing the names of women beneficiaries, transforming the cricket field into a stage for awareness and social action.
During the match, the team committed to electrifying six homes for every six hit scored, a pledge that was amplified with the support of Luminous Power Technologies, resulting in solar electrification of 260 homes lacking reliable electricity. The project also included the training of four solar engineers in collaboration with Bindi International, ensuring local capacity building and sustainability of the initiative.
