Nominations open for C6 Journalism Award (Brazil)

The 6th edition is here with something new! Now, the C6 Journalism Award to recognize journalistic work in three areas: Financial Education and Personal Finance; Macroeconomics; and Technology and Innovation.

Categories

  • Financial Education and Personal Finance:
    • Encourage financial citizenship, a concept used by the Central Bank of Brazil to encompass financial inclusion, financial education and consumer protection of financial services;
    • Facilitate understanding of the financial market and investment products, helping Brazilians to make informed financial decisions.
  • Macroeconomics category:
    • To recognize reports that facilitate the understanding of the Brazilian economy and encourage reflection on the country’s current and future economic scenario.
  • Technology and Innovation:
    • To recognize reports that explore technological advances and their impact on society. Journalistic works that, in particular:
      • Contribute to the understanding of technological trends and challenges (artificial intelligence, for example)
      • Promote reflection on the application of new technologies in favor of society.

Funding Information

  • The owners of the winning Journalistic Materials in each of the Contest categories will be awarded a prize of R$20,000 (twenty thousand reais).
  • C6 Bank will collect Income Tax in accordance with tax legislation.
  • The deposit of the prize amounts to the winners will occur within 60 (sixty) calendar days after the announcement of the result and, on such date, the winning Participants must sign a Release and Prize Delivery Term, under penalty of not signing it, not receiving the Prize.
  • If the winning Journalistic Material is owned by more than one Participant, the Prize amount will be deposited in full to the Participant responsible for registering the winning Journalistic Material.
  • To receive the Prize, it is essential that the Participant has a valid current account in any national financial institution, otherwise the Prize will not be received.
  • The Prizes are individual and non-transferable and may not be awarded by any means or in any manner other than those provided for in these Regulations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Individuals who meet the following criteria may participate in this Contest:
    • Be over 18 (eighteen) years of age;
    • Have been the author of at least 1 (one) journalistic content (the “Journalistic Material”) that meets the requirements described in these Regulations;
    • Not be a Politically Exposed Person – PEP.
    • Not hold a position and/or function in companies, public or private agencies, institutions or bodies that prohibit or do not allow, whether by internal regulations or by law, participation in promotions and payment of prizes.

Application Requirements

  • Those interested in participating in the Contest must register on the website and must:
    • Complete the free registration form, providing the following information: full name, CPF, email, telephone number and full address;
    • Inform, if applicable, the full name of other Participants who may have participated in the Journalistic Article;
    • Inform the name of the vehicle where the Journalistic Article was published, the title of the Journalistic Article and the date of publication of the Journalistic Article;
    • Forward the link(s) of articles published in online media. In the case of articles published exclusively in printed newspapers or magazines, attach a PDF file with the Journalistic Article. For video or audio articles (TV, radio, podcasts, etc.), if the material has not been published on the internet.
    • The Participant must generate a link (via YouTube, for example) that allows access to the content.
