The Global Warming Mitigation Project is currently accepting submissions for the Keeling Curve Prize, with a deadline of January 15, 2025. This prize is not just a financial reward but aims to propel the growth of deserving climate leaders to achieve significant and lasting reductions in greenhouse gas emissions worldwide.
The Keeling Curve Prize has several categories for submissions:
1. Carbon Sinks: Projects focusing on carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration, whether through natural or engineered systems.
2. Energy: Initiatives that promote decarbonization of energy, support zero-carbon innovations, and improve access to low or zero-emissions energy systems globally.
3. Finance: Projects that enhance the economic and financial aspects of ventures aimed at reducing or reversing heat-trapping gas emissions.
4. Social & Cultural Pathways: Efforts that aim to change societal perceptions and behaviors towards mitigating humanity’s impact on the Earth’s livability.
5. Transport & Mobility: Projects reimagining vehicles, fuels, and mobility options to address carbon footprints and travel routes.
The prize offers $50,000 to each of the ten winners to help them scale and succeed. Eligible entries must be active projects or programs from any part of the world. Past work, unimplemented ideas, or untested hypotheses will not be considered. Submissions must be in English, and applications will be evaluated based on concept rather than grammar. Projects may align with multiple prize categories.
