The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy Albania, is inviting organizations to submit proposals for funding from the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation. This program supports various areas of cultural preservation, including archaeological sites, historic buildings, museum collections, and traditional cultural expressions like indigenous languages and crafts.
Projects may involve activities such as anastylosis (reassembling sites), conservation (addressing damage), documentation (recording important features), and restoration (recreating missing elements). Funding amounts can range from $25,000 to $500,000, with project durations lasting between 12 to 60 months.
Eligible applicants include foreign institutions of higher education, foreign-based non-profit organizations, U.S. non-profit organizations, and U.S. institutions of higher education. Individuals, commercial entities, and past award recipients with unmet obligations are not eligible for grants. Currently, only organizations working in Albania are eligible to apply.
