The Ontario government is investing over $45 million through the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to support 140 non-profit organizations, Indigenous communities, and small municipalities across the province. The funding will help expand and improve programs and services that build stronger communities. The grants focus on promoting active lifestyles, fostering community engagement, supporting arts, culture and heritage, and advancing the development of children and youth.
The OTF’s Grow stream grants enable non-profits to increase the reach and effectiveness of existing programs. Eligible organizations can receive between $100,000 and $600,000 over two to three years to scale, adapt, or enhance their services.
Among the grant recipients, Huron Women’s Shelter will receive $599,700 over three years to implement a new housing model for women and children affected by gender-based violence. Durham Youth Housing and Support Services will get $429,800 to provide housing and educational support to 190 youth. Food for Life in Halton Region will use its $345,600 grant to improve food equity by enhancing cultural engagement and food distribution. YMCA of Three Rivers will receive $288,200 to expand its summer day camp programs for youth aged 4 to 15.
Since 2018, Ontario has invested more than $792 million in over 7,300 projects through the OTF. These initiatives have helped create over 9,490 full-time jobs and generated more than $1.1 billion in economic benefits for communities throughout the province.
