The Ontario government is investing $1.5 million to support the 2025 Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto, a major sporting event held at Exhibition Place. This investment aims to strengthen the province’s sport and tourism sectors by enhancing event operations and attracting international visitors.
The 2025 edition of the Honda Indy Toronto is expected to draw more than 140,000 attendees over its three-day schedule. As one of Canada’s premier motorsport events, it will mark the 37th time the NTT IndyCar Series has been held in Toronto and stands as IndyCar’s second-oldest street race. The event is projected to generate tens of millions of dollars in economic activity through sport tourism, hospitality services, and related industries.
In 2024, the event attracted over 150,000 fans and contributed more than $50 million to Ontario’s economy, demonstrating its importance in supporting local jobs and businesses. The provincial funding will help improve the attendee experience and drive further tourism growth.
This investment aligns with Ontario’s broader support for the sport and recreation sector. In 2024 alone, the province allocated over $54 million to promote grassroots sports, encourage healthy lifestyles, and stimulate local economic development across Ontario.
