The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) delivered $1.4 billion worth of goods and services in 2025, helping communities around the world access essential healthcare, infrastructure, humanitarian assistance, and public services.
The latest UNOPS procurement report highlights how strategic and sustainable purchasing is being used as a tool to support development, strengthen local economies, and improve resilience in communities facing conflict, climate challenges, and humanitarian crises.
Procurement activities supported more than 900 projects across 155 countries and involved over 5,800 suppliers from 173 countries. More than half of all procurement was sourced locally, creating opportunities for businesses while strengthening national supply chains.
UNOPS projects have delivered practical solutions in some of the world’s most challenging environments. In Yemen, improved procurement methods helped reduce delivery times and support access to electricity for essential services. In Ethiopia, hospital restoration efforts provided medical equipment to improve healthcare access for millions of people.
In Ukraine, UNOPS supported humanitarian operations by delivering specialized demining equipment and helping train operators to clear explosive hazards. The organization also provided mobility solutions, emergency repair vehicles, and other resources to maintain critical services.
Infrastructure-related procurement also increased significantly, reaching $426 million in 2025. Countries benefited from investments in construction, disaster risk management, digital transformation, climate resilience, and community development projects.
With most procurement managed by field teams, UNOPS has been able to respond quickly to local needs. Emergency procurement support helped deliver urgent assistance in countries affected by crises, demonstrating how efficient supply systems can create real improvements for communities.
UNOPS continues to use procurement as more than a purchasing process, turning resources into long-term solutions that support sustainable development, economic growth, and stronger communities worldwide.
