The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has announced that applications are now open for the 2026–27 Grants to Youth Organizations program, aimed at strengthening youth development and community engagement across the province. The initiative is led by the Department of Social Supports and Well-Being under Minister Joedy Wall.
The program provides a total of $276,500 in funding to not-for-profit organizations that support youth aged 12 to 29. Each eligible organization can receive up to $30,000 to implement projects focused on skill development, mentorship, social inclusion, and community participation. The goal is to help young people build leadership abilities while fostering stronger, more inclusive communities.
Funding priorities include initiatives that promote youth engagement, accessibility, mental health support, physical activity, food security, and education on issues such as sexual exploitation and gender-based violence. Projects that serve marginalized youth and encourage intergenerational connections are also given special consideration.
The program is designed to encourage innovative community-based solutions that improve opportunities for young people across Newfoundland and Labrador. It supports a wide range of activities, from leadership training and mentorship programs to initiatives that strengthen social ties and encourage active participation in community life.
Applications must be submitted by July 10, and interested organizations are encouraged to review the updated guidelines before applying. The funding reflects the government’s continued commitment to empowering youth and building stronger, more connected communities throughout the province.
