Maryborough — June 4, 2026 — The Central Goldfields Shire Council has announced that applications for the 2026–2027 Community Grants Program will open on Wednesday, July 1, offering a total of $30,000 in funding to support local projects.
Grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 will be available for community-based organisations to deliver activities, programs, small events, equipment, or infrastructure. Applications close at 4pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Mayor Cr Ben Green described the program as an exciting opportunity for local groups to bring community-led ideas to life. “Our community groups are incredibly important, particularly as many navigate challenging economic conditions. These grants help them continue delivering the projects and events that lift and connect our community,” he said.
Applicants are encouraged to align their proposals with Council’s Community Vision 2031, Council Plan 2025–2029, and Your Community 2030 – 10 Year Community Plans.
