Indian clean-label food brand Anveshan has raised ₹150 crore (about $15.8 million) in a Series B funding round led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, with participation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and several notable strategic investors.
The company, founded in 2020 by Kuldeep Parewa, Akhil Kansal, and Aayushi Khandelwal, operates in the clean-label and nutrition-focused food segment. Its product portfolio includes A2 bilona ghee, cold-pressed oils, raw honey, and whole wheat flour (atta), positioning itself within India’s growing demand for minimally processed and transparent food products.
The funding round also included participation from prominent industry and startup ecosystem figures such as Swiggy co-founder Sriharsha Majety, along with existing investors including Wipro Consumer Care Ventures, Titan Capital, Force Ventures, and the founders of boAt, Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta.
According to the company, the new capital will be used to scale manufacturing capacity, expand product lines, strengthen sourcing networks, and broaden distribution across both digital and offline retail channels. The startup currently operates 16 manufacturing facilities across nine Indian states and distributes through its own direct-to-consumer platform, e-commerce marketplaces, and quick-commerce partners.
A key part of Anveshan’s growth strategy is geographic expansion beyond major urban centers. The company reports that a significant share of its revenue—around 50–55%—now comes from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, reflecting rising demand for premium and health-focused packaged foods outside metro markets.
Investor commentary around the round highlights broader trends in India’s consumer food sector, particularly the shift toward “clean label” products, where transparency, ingredient quality, and perceived trustworthiness are becoming major purchasing drivers.
The deal reflects continued investor interest in India’s consumer brands space, where mid-sized funding rounds are increasingly supporting companies aiming to scale national distribution and build category-defining packaged food businesses.
