Kinetic Group has launched the third round of its Moving Communities Fund, committing $160,000 to grassroots organisations supporting local communities across Australia and New Zealand.
The funding programme provides grants of up to $10,000, along with in-kind support such as free bus charters, volunteer assistance, and promotional space. It is aimed at not-for-profit groups, sporting clubs, schools, and other community organisations operating in regions served by Kinetic’s transport network.
Since its launch in 2024, the Moving Communities Fund has distributed nearly $320,000 to 65 community projects focused on youth mentoring, literacy, family violence prevention, road safety, homelessness support, and other social initiatives. The programme has steadily expanded its reach across both Australia and New Zealand.
Kinetic said the fund is designed to support organisations that often struggle to access traditional funding streams, particularly smaller grassroots groups delivering local impact.
The company’s Australian managing director, Matthew Campbell, said the programme continues to grow in both scale and community impact, helping support everything from regional sports teams to youth and family support services.
Kinetic New Zealand managing director Calum Haslop highlighted strong engagement from community organisations, noting that the fund has supported a wide range of initiatives addressing transport barriers, homelessness support, disability inclusion, and youth development.
The latest funding round is open for applications until June 24, 2026, with successful recipients expected to be announced in August.
