Qatar Charity, with the support of charitable individuals, has implemented two projects to provide educational supplies in Chad and Jordan as part of its ongoing “Education 2025” initiative, coinciding with the start of the new school year. The projects aim to enhance learning opportunities for children who face limited access to quality education.
In Chad, Qatar Charity distributed 1,000 school tables and chairs to ten educational institutions in the capital, N’Djamena. The ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education and Citizenship Promotion, Mr. Lol Ali Shoa, and representatives from the beneficiary schools. Mr. Shoa praised the donation as a generous contribution to education and emphasized its importance in supporting societal development. The initiative addresses a critical challenge in Chad, where over 40% of primary schools lack proper desks and chairs, forcing many students to sit on the floor or share overcrowded seating, which negatively impacts learning outcomes and increases dropout rates. School principals expressed deep gratitude, highlighting that the project has improved classroom conditions and enabled students to learn more effectively.
In Jordan, Qatar Charity launched the first phase of a program distributing school bags equipped with essential educational supplies to 120 outstanding female students who have memorized parts of the Holy Quran in Jerash Governorate. Plans are in place to distribute an additional 500 bags across other regions in subsequent phases. Mr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al Marri, General Supervisor of Qatar Charity’s Jordan office, noted that this initiative is part of broader educational support, which has included over 187 projects since 2016, ranging from university scholarships to school maintenance and rehabilitation. Teachers and students welcomed the initiative, emphasizing its motivational impact on learning and memorization of the Quran.
