The Ukraine Energy Support Fund, managed by the Energy Community Secretariat, continues to play a key role in restoring Ukraine’s energy system following widespread damage from Russian attacks. Recently, one of Ukraine’s most modern wind power plants, damaged during the conflict, received three new turbine blades worth EUR 3.23 million. The procurement, delivery, and installation of these blades were made possible through support from the European Union and Denmark.
Danish Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard highlighted that restoring wind turbines not only provides electricity to Ukrainian families and industries but also strengthens Ukraine’s energy resilience and supports its fight for freedom. Wind energy is central to Ukraine’s transition to clean energy, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and enhancing the stability of the national grid.
Jocelin Cornet of the EU Delegation to Ukraine emphasized that each repaired turbine contributes to energy security and brings Ukraine closer to a modern, decentralized, and resilient power system. Despite ongoing attacks, Ukraine and its international partners are efficiently working to restore energy infrastructure, demonstrating the importance of joint efforts in rebuilding a sustainable energy sector.
Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, noted that the installation of new blades ensures a continued supply of decentralized, green electricity, supporting Ukraine’s long-term sustainable energy goals. Svitlana Grynchuk, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, added that renewable energy is crucial for strengthening energy resilience, increasing capacity, and advancing the country’s green transformation.
Since 2022, the Secretariat and Fund donors have achieved significant results, including financing over 800 supply contracts worth EUR 682 million, supporting 59 Ukrainian energy companies with equipment, services, and protection measures, and implementing projects across 21 regions of Ukraine. With winter 2025/2026 approaching and a funding gap exceeding EUR 500 million, the Secretariat has called on partners and donors to increase contributions to ensure timely winterization efforts.
The Secretariat expressed gratitude to all donors for their trust, solidarity, and collaboration, noting that their support delivers tangible results in close partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Ukrainian energy companies, helping Ukraine build a sustainable and resilient energy future.
