On June 26, Amazon visited FIND Food Bank to strengthen its ongoing partnership in combating summer hunger. During the fourth annual event, Amazon donated $25,000—equivalent to 100,000 meals—and delivered an Amazon van filled with food, health, and household products to support FIND’s efforts in addressing seasonal food insecurity.
Summer poses added challenges for the desert community due to extreme heat, seasonal employment fluctuations, and school closures that interrupt access to regular meals for children. To mitigate this, Amazon employees from Southern California collected and donated more than 14 pallets of food and essential goods. Additionally, Amazon used its logistics network to assist in delivering supplies to 225 homebound residents, allowing FIND to prioritize its broader network of 155 food distribution sites.
Amazon’s continued contributions help FIND serve an average of 120,000 individuals monthly. The company’s donations and logistical support complement FIND’s mission to ensure consistent food access for those in need across the region.
After delivering the supplies, 30 Amazon operations staff from four regional sites volunteered at FIND. They helped pack 400 food boxes for seniors, which would be distributed through FIND’s nonprofit partners and directly to families.
The event saw attendance from several local government representatives, highlighting the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors. Their presence underscored the collective commitment to address hunger in the Coachella Valley and surrounding communities.
Amazon’s support for FIND spans financial aid, product donations, freight services, and hands-on volunteerism. This multifaceted partnership continues to play a significant role in addressing food insecurity in the region.
