The RIAS Berlin Commission Journalist Program invites American broadcast journalists to participate in a three-week exchange program in the United States. This program aims to create a strong German-American network of broadcast journalists. Participants will embark on an intensive two-week trip to Germany and Brussels to explore journalism and the world outside of their daily work. The exchange fosters professional and personal connections between American and German journalists through the RIAS Berlin Commission alumni network. Travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the fellowship. Eligible applicants must be full-time radio, TV, or online journalists with a minimum of five years of professional experience. German language skills are not required for participation. The fellowship includes round-trip airfare, travel within the US, hotel accommodations, and some meals. Application requirements include a completed form, résumé, letter of recommendation from a supervisor, and two essays. For more details, visit the RIAS Berlin Commission website.
