Innovate UK is offering UK-based businesses the opportunity to secure a portion of up to £1.5 million for projects aimed at enhancing their innovation endeavors in the agri-tech and food technology sector in Mid and North Wales. This funding initiative, part of Innovate UK’s Launchpad program, aligns with the UK government’s objectives for driving local economic growth. The program is also backing a consortium led by Ceredigion County Council, serving as the local cluster management entity.
The primary goal of this competition is to bolster exceptional innovation projects spearheaded by businesses that are expanding their innovation activities within the agri-tech and food technology cluster in Mid and North Wales. Projects should highlight innovation in agri-tech or food technology and contribute to the growth of innovation activities in the cluster, both during and after project completion. Emphasis should be placed on local innovation activities, the value created by innovation activities within the cluster, and engagement with other innovation-active organizations in the cluster.
Projects can focus on various themes such as productivity, food processing, markets, sustainability, and biodiversity, with a range of specific areas under each theme. The funding available for this competition is up to £1.5 million, provided in the form of a grant. Eligible projects must fall within a grant funding range of £25,000 to £100,000, last between 6 and 12 months, and be conducted entirely in the UK. Additionally, businesses must be registered as micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises, with a clear ambition for business growth.
