WomenStrong is currently looking for potential grantees that are local women-led organizations focusing on climate and environmental justice in urban and peri-urban areas. They aim to create a group of women-led partner organizations worldwide that raise awareness and build movements around these issues. These organizations will mobilize women in their communities to address climate breakdown and environmental injustice, recognizing the intersection of gender and climate in their work. WomenStrong emphasizes the importance of intersectional approaches in advancing climate and environmental justice.
The program seeks women-led organizations that will work on various issues related to climate and environmental justice, such as reproductive health, girls’ education, economic security for women, and preventing violence against women and girls. Grantee partners are encouraged to join the WomenStrong Learning Lab, a virtual community that facilitates knowledge sharing, capacity building, and collaboration among partners to improve the lives of women and girls.
There are no geographic restrictions for funding, and the new cohort of grantee partners will have the opportunity to engage with existing partners in the Learning Lab. Organizations working on climate and environmental issues are invited to apply to be part of the WomenStrong Learning Lab and contribute their solutions and knowledge.
