The UNDP has initiated the Climate Change Grant Programme to aid Local Climate Action. The EU-TR CCGP is intended to assist local entities in Türkiye and the EU, such as municipalities, universities, NGOs, and research institutes, in their endeavors to combat climate change through adaptation and mitigation initiatives. The main goals include enhancing the capacity of local entities to address climate change and promoting climate action planning in alignment with national strategies and the Paris Agreement. The program has a total budget of EUR 14,706,000, with grants ranging from EUR 250,000 to EUR 750,000. Eligible applicants must be legal entities located in EU member states, Türkiye, or eligible countries as per the IPA Regulation. International organizations are not eligible. Lead applicants should have a direct role in project management and can be municipalities, local authorities, universities, or development agencies.
