Nominations are currently being accepted for the Puchi Award, which recognizes exceptional and innovative book proposals in the graphic field, specifically in the realm of comics and illustrated albums. The award seeks projects that are bold, distinctive, and artistically compelling, where images are a central component of the narrative or visual presentation. The winner will receive a prize of 10,000€ along with the publication of their work by Fulgencio Pimentel.
Eligibility for the award is open to individuals of legal age from any nationality who have created an original and unpublished work where images play a significant role in the storytelling. This includes various forms of visual storytelling such as illustrated albums, comics, and hybrid projects. Projects where images are merely decorative or secondary to the text will not be considered.
A judging panel will select the top 10 works, which will then be evaluated by a jury consisting of publishing and cultural experts. The decision of the jury is final, and only the winner will be contacted. Interested participants must submit a range of materials, including an online application, CVs of all authors, a descriptive text of the work, a biography, a portfolio, and the complete work in its original language.
