The 5th Annual Southern Africa Oil & Gas Conference (SAOGC 2026) is set to serve as a major platform for collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth in the region’s energy sector. The conference will showcase how responsible development and collective effort can drive new opportunities across Southern Africa’s oil, gas, and broader energy landscape.
Scheduled for March 16-17, 2026, at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town, the event will convene industry leaders, government policymakers, investors, and service providers from across the continent and internationally. Under the theme “Oil & Gas without Borders: Unlocking Southern Africa’s Shared Future,” SAOGC 2026 aims to foster dialogue on regional integration and energy security.
Southern Africa is increasingly recognized as a key contributor to Africa’s energy future. Breakthroughs in Namibia’s offshore oil and gas sector, South Africa’s onshore and offshore gas prospects—including an estimated 60 trillion cubic feet of offshore gas—and Mozambique’s strategic LNG projects highlight the region’s growing significance.
The conference offers a timely forum for stakeholders to transform this momentum into practical outcomes, promoting responsible energy development, regional cooperation, and long-term sustainability. Organised by the South African Oil & Gas Alliance (SAOGA) in partnership with national institutions, including the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources and the Petroleum Agency of South Africa, SAOGC 2026 is positioned as a pivotal gathering for the advancement of Southern Africa’s energy sector.
