Centre Gives returns on May 6 and 7, bringing together communities across Centre County, Pennsylvania, for a 36-hour online giving event that supports more than 230 local nonprofits. Residents from areas including State College, Bellefonte, Philipsburg, Penns Valley, and Bald Eagle are encouraged to contribute through CentreGives.org, helping organizations that work across key sectors such as arts and culture, education, environment, health, housing, human services, youth development, and animal welfare.
Since its launch in 2012, Centre Gives has raised over $22.5 million for local organizations, evolving into a major annual moment of collective philanthropy. The event highlights the essential role nonprofits play in addressing community needs, delivering services, and creating opportunities that strengthen individuals, families, and neighbourhoods across the region.
Many of these organizations operate with limited visibility despite their deep impact on community wellbeing. Centre Gives provides a dedicated opportunity for residents to recognize and support this work, ensuring continued delivery of vital services and programmes throughout the year. A $500,000 stretch pool, supported by Centre Foundation and the Hamer Foundation, will further amplify the impact of donations.
The giving window runs from 8:00 a.m. on May 6 to 8:00 p.m. on May 7, during which supporters can donate $10 or more to one or multiple nonprofits. Community members are also encouraged to engage and share their participation using #CentreGives, helping expand awareness and collective impact.
Organisers emphasize that every contribution helps sustain and grow local services, reinforcing the idea that supporting local nonprofits directly strengthens the broader Centre County community.
