GrainCorp has announced funding for 26 community organisations through its latest Community Grants program, supporting initiatives focused on education, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and youth development. The funding is designed to help local, often volunteer-led groups continue delivering essential services and strengthening community connections across regional and rural areas.
Community Engagement Manager Kyle Docherty said community organisations play a central role in both celebrating successes and supporting people during challenging times. He emphasized that the grants aim to strengthen the people behind these organisations, enabling them to continue creating lasting local impact.
Among the recipients is Moorambilla Voices, a regional arts education organisation supporting young people across regional New South Wales through creative and culturally grounded programs. The grant will support the launch of MAXed UP, a new senior ensemble created to meet rising demand. This expansion will double participation from 75 to 150 young people and increase overall engagement in 2026. Program Manager Sandy McNaughton said the support will allow more young people, including those from remote and disadvantaged communities, to access creative opportunities while maintaining scholarships and subsidised participation. She also noted the wider benefits for families and rural communities, including improved wellbeing, pride, and social connection.
Another recipient, Hope for Our Children in southern Queensland, will use the funding to expand its Bags of Hope program, which provides essential items and emotional support to vulnerable children facing crisis situations such as domestic violence, homelessness, or entering care. Chief Executive Officer Jules Davey explained that the initiative ensures children feel supported and cared for during difficult times, while also helping extend services to more families across the Darling Downs region.
The program is delivered by volunteers through the Hands of Hope initiative, fostering community participation while ensuring consistent delivery of support. The new funding will help purchase essential supplies and expand program capacity to meet increasing demand.
GrainCorp’s Community Grants program runs twice a year and supports organisations working to drive positive social, economic, and cultural outcomes across regional communities.
