Community groups, local governments, and organisations across Western Australia can now apply for more than $142,000 in funding to deliver free events celebrating and empowering young people during Youth Week WA 2027.
The grants programme will support activities taking place from 16 to 23 April 2027, giving young people opportunities to share their ideas, showcase their talents, build connections, and participate in community events across the state.
Funding of up to $1,500 and $3,000 will be available for smaller events, while larger community-wide initiatives can apply for grants of up to $10,000. For the first time, one local government, organisation, or community group will also be eligible for a $20,000 grant to host the official Youth Week WA 2027 closing event in metropolitan Perth.
Youth Week WA is Western Australia’s largest annual celebration for young people aged 10 to 25, recognising their achievements, creativity, and contributions to local communities. The programme aims to create inclusive opportunities where young people can participate, connect, and celebrate their role in shaping the future.
The funding builds on the success of previous Youth Week WA events, with 44 community organisations and local governments receiving support in the previous year to host activities across the state.
Successful applicants will use the grants to deliver free events that encourage youth participation, strengthen community connections, and provide platforms for young people to express themselves and highlight their talents.
Applications for the Youth Week WA Grants Program are open until 3pm on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, with eligible organisations encouraged to submit proposals for events that support and inspire Western Australia’s young people.
