The traveling exhibition “The Infinite Memory of the Pandemic: The Story of COVID-19 by All of Us Brazilians” has opened in São Paulo, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the social, human, and public health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic through a collection of digital memories and historical records.
Following its previous presentation in Brasília, the exhibition is being hosted at the São Paulo Cultural Center (CCSP) until August 9, 2026. The opening ceremony brought together representatives from Brazil’s Ministry of Health, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the World Health Organization (WHO), researchers, healthcare professionals, and civil society organizations.
Organized by the Ministry of Health Cultural Center, the exhibition provides public access to the COVID-19 Pandemic Digital Memorial through an immersive multimedia experience. Visitors can explore testimonies, photographs, documents, audiovisual materials, and interactive resources that highlight the experiences of communities, healthcare workers, and institutions during one of the most significant public health emergencies of recent decades.
The COVID-19 Pandemic Digital Memorial was developed through cooperation between Brazil’s Ministry of Health, PAHO through the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information (BIREME), and the Center for Digital Humanities at the State University of Campinas (CHD/Unicamp). The platform preserves digital collections, scientific publications, and other records documenting Brazil’s response to the pandemic.
The initiative aims to support research, education, and future emergency preparedness by ensuring that lessons from the pandemic remain accessible. PAHO highlighted that preserving collective experiences can strengthen public health decision-making and help societies better respond to future health challenges.
Alongside the exhibition, BIREME and CHD/Unicamp are organizing educational activities and discussions focused on digital preservation, science, memory, and public health. After São Paulo, the exhibition will continue its national tour with stops in Fortaleza, Manaus, and Porto Alegre before becoming part of the permanent collection of the Ministry of Health Cultural Center in Rio de Janeiro in 2027.
The exhibition is open to visitors at the São Paulo Cultural Center from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., with free admission.
