The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has announced more than $3.1 million in funding through the Cultural Economic Development Program to support arts, culture, and heritage organizations across the province.
More than 100 organizations have received funding under the initiative, which aims to strengthen local communities, preserve cultural heritage, and create opportunities for artists, musicians, performers, and heritage groups. The investment will help organizations deliver a wide range of cultural activities throughout the coming months.
Funded projects include festivals, concerts, theatre productions, art exhibitions, dance performances, heritage and ancestry programs, family-friendly events, and community celebrations. These initiatives are expected to enhance cultural experiences for residents and visitors while promoting community engagement and local economic development.
The provincial government said the funding recognizes the important role that arts and heritage play in building vibrant, inclusive, and connected communities. By supporting cultural organizations across Newfoundland and Labrador, the initiative also helps preserve local traditions, encourage creativity, and strengthen the province’s cultural economy.
The latest investment reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to fostering a thriving arts and heritage sector while creating lasting social and economic benefits for communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.
