The African Development Bank (AfDB) has convened a civil society consultation as part of its ongoing efforts to shape the Regional Integration Strategic Framework (RISF) 2026–2033. This initiative builds on the Bank’s earlier institutional dialogue held in March 2026 with Regional Economic Communities and continental institutions, which helped lay the groundwork for Africa’s next decade of integration. By engaging civil society organizations, the Bank reinforces its commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and collaboration, ensuring that grassroots voices—particularly those of women, youth, and community groups—are reflected alongside institutional priorities.
The consultation will feature contributions from key AfDB representatives, including Dr Joy Kategekwa, Director of the Regional Integration Coordination Office, Zeneb Toure from the Department of Gender and Civil Society, and Ometere Omoluabi-Davies, Regional Integration Coordinator for RDNG. Their participation highlights the Bank’s coordinated approach to integrating diverse perspectives into the policy design process.
Civil society representatives will use the platform to share insights, raise emerging concerns, and propose practical recommendations that will directly inform the development of the RISF 2026–2033. These contributions are intended to ensure that the framework is grounded in real-world experiences while remaining aligned with Africa’s broader development vision under Agenda 2063.
The outcomes of the consultation will play a key role in shaping the final framework, which will guide AfDB’s support for regional integration over the next decade. The RISF is expected to advance Africa’s economic transformation, resilience, and sustainable growth agenda. The Bank will further amplify the results through official communications, ensuring that civil society inputs remain visible and continue to influence the ongoing design process. Interpretation services in English and French will be provided to support inclusive participation.
