On 27 January 2026, a global coalition comprising the Alliance for Feminist Movements, Gender Funders CoLab, Mama Cash, and Prospera International Network of Women’s and Feminist Funds launched a new campaign, Accelerate Together, to mobilise $600 million annually in funding for grassroots women-led movements worldwide. The initiative seeks to significantly increase investment in women’s organisations working on climate action, democracy, human rights, economic justice, bodily autonomy, and community safety.
The campaign responds to intensifying global challenges, including climate volatility, democratic erosion, widening inequality, and persistent conflict. Evidence shows that well-resourced, independent women’s movements are among the most effective drivers of lasting social change, yet grassroots organisations continue to receive disproportionately limited funding relative to the scope of the issues they tackle.
Accelerate Together aims to address this funding gap by engaging philanthropic organisations, foundations, and individual donors to provide coordinated and substantial support for the broader ecosystem of women’s movements. The campaign emphasizes moving beyond fragmented funding toward strategic investment that amplifies the impact of organisations driving progress across climate, democracy, economic justice, and human rights.
Rachel Jacobson, co-director of the Alliance for Feminist Movements, highlighted that the campaign seeks to empower women’s movements to meet the unprecedented global crises of the moment. Annie Hillar of Gender Funders CoLab emphasized that investing in gender justice movements represents one of the most effective strategies for achieving lasting change, while Laila Alodaat of Prospera noted that the initiative will scale the feminist funding ecosystem and ensure resources reach the organisations best positioned to drive social transformation.
The campaign will work with a network of regional, national, and international partners experienced in supporting women’s movements. Funding will be directed to community-led grassroots groups advocating for the rights of women, girls, and gender-diverse people, delivered through women’s and feminist funds, direct grants, and other collaborative funding mechanisms.
