Clark Township has secured funding through New Jersey’s Clean Communities Grant Program to strengthen local environmental initiatives, including litter removal, recycling efforts, and community cleanup activities.
The township was awarded $36,766.73 in the initial grant allocation, with additional funding expected to increase the total award to approximately $72,000. The funding is part of New Jersey’s ongoing efforts to reduce litter, promote recycling, and improve environmental quality across local communities.
According to township officials, the grant will support a range of public works operations, including litter collection, storm drain maintenance, waste disposal, recycling services, and the purchase of equipment and supplies needed for environmental cleanup projects.
The funding will also help expand community engagement initiatives such as public awareness campaigns, volunteer cleanup events, and partnerships with local organizations and civic groups. These programs are designed to encourage environmental stewardship and increase community participation in maintaining public spaces.
Township leaders welcomed the grant, noting that the investment will contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment for residents while supporting ongoing efforts to improve local environmental quality.
The Clean Communities Grant Program continues to play a key role in helping municipalities across New Jersey address litter reduction, recycling education, and environmental preservation initiatives.
