London-based startup Spaceflux has successfully raised £5.4 million (€6.2 million) in seed funding, co-led by the UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund (UKI2S), Foresight Group, and Blackfinch Ventures, with additional backing from Seraphim Space.
Founded in 2022, Spaceflux is building a global telescope network and pioneering AI-driven space situational awareness (SSA) technologies to track satellites and orbital debris. Its proprietary optical sensors combine visible and short-wave infrared imaging, enabling 24/7 monitoring of space objects — a breakthrough that expands observation beyond night-time operations.
The funding comes amid growing concerns over orbital congestion and untracked debris, with reports warning that a one-week disruption to satellite navigation could cost the UK economy £7.6 billion. Spaceflux’s technology is already supporting the UK Space Agency and Ministry of Defence, and the new capital will accelerate scaling of its sensor network and Cortex analytics platform.
CEO Marco Rocchetto emphasized the importance of safeguarding satellites that underpin navigation, communications, and environmental monitoring. Investors highlighted Spaceflux’s rapid growth and strategic role in strengthening both commercial and national security capabilities.
With this investment, Spaceflux is positioned to expand globally, delivering trusted surveillance and analytics to satellite operators, insurers, and governments, while contributing to a safer and more sustainable orbital environment.
