The Duke Energy Foundation has awarded $30,000 in grants to two South Carolina nonprofits, Upstate Warrior Solution and Hidden Wounds, to strengthen job readiness and workforce development programs for veterans across eight counties. The funding is part of the America250 initiative, which honors U.S. veterans by supporting their transition to civilian life through training and employment assistance.
The grants will expand services such as career counseling, resume development, and employer outreach, with a particular focus on justice-involved veterans and those facing employment barriers. By investing in these programs, the initiative aims to improve long-term opportunities for veterans and help them successfully reintegrate into the workforce.
This contribution is part of Duke Energy’s broader $1 million America250 investment, which supports community-driven projects across its service areas. Additional grants are planned for June, focusing on history and civics education, further reinforcing the initiative’s commitment to honoring veterans and strengthening communities.
