A total of 56 arts projects across Scotland have received funding in the latest National Lottery-supported Open Funding round, supporting initiatives in music, multimedia, and Gaelic language education. The Music Industry Literacy Programme, led by Offset Network, will provide a six-week leadership and industry development course for women and gender-expansive participants, offering workshops, guest speakers, peer learning, and bursaries to build knowledge, confidence, and professional networks in the music sector.
The Last Foundations project, led by Chris Leslie, will document the legacy of Ravenscraig’s former steelworks through photography, film, oral histories, and community engagement, culminating in a public exhibition and panel discussion.
Dùthchas Folktales will deliver traditional Gaelic storytelling to schools and community spaces in Easter Ross, Sutherland, and Caithness, using puppetry and bilingual lessons to connect young people with local culture, history, and language.
Other supported projects include Music at Paxton Festival 2026, Opera Bohemia’s chamber production of Die Fledermaus, and The Storylands Sessions, which promotes creative community engagement through music, storytelling, and visual arts. These awards aim to develop skills, cultural engagement, and creative opportunities for communities across Scotland.
