The United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence against Women has launched its annual Call for Proposals, inviting applications for multi-year grants of up to USD 1 million. Applications can be submitted in English, French, or Spanish and must demonstrate the potential to create tangible, national-level impact in the fight against gender-based violence.
The Fund gives preference to proposals that have the capacity to reach large populations, introduce innovative solutions, and demonstrate potential for scalability and long-term sustainability. Its focus is on initiatives that not only drive change but can be replicated or expanded for broader impact.
Grant selection is conducted through a rigorous, open, and competitive two-stage process. First, applicants submit a concept note, which is evaluated by review committees at both global and sub-regional levels based on uniform criteria. Those whose concept notes are approved are then invited to submit a detailed full proposal for final appraisal.
Finalists work closely with the UN Trust Fund team to integrate expert feedback, ensure strong programme design, and establish robust monitoring and evaluation systems. The full selection and approval process takes approximately eight months from submission to funding disbursement.
