The International Labour Organization (ILO), through the EU–India Cooperation and Dialogue on Migration and Mobility (CDMM-II) Project, organized the “Linking India–EU Mobility Opportunities with Telangana” workshop in Hyderabad on 20 May 2026. Held in partnership with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), and the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM), the event was supported by the Ministry of External Affairs, the Government of Telangana, and the European Union.
The workshop brought together representatives from government agencies, international organizations, academic institutions, skilling bodies, and recruitment agencies to strengthen cooperation on safe, regular, and ethical labour mobility between Telangana and European Union member states. Discussions focused on expanding access to legal migration pathways while improving awareness of employment opportunities in Europe.
Participants emphasized the importance of connecting skilled youth with verified international job opportunities through reliable labour market information and ethical recruitment practices. The event also highlighted measures to protect prospective migrants by raising awareness about the risks of irregular migration and fraudulent recruitment while encouraging the use of registered recruitment agencies and official migration channels.
The workshop further explored migration-related procedures, including passport documentation, attestation requirements, Schengen visa processes, and pre-departure orientation. Organizers stressed that better awareness, skills development, and access to accurate information can help ensure safer migration experiences and stronger labour mobility partnerships between India and the European Union.
The initiative forms part of the broader EU–India Cooperation and Dialogue on Migration and Mobility project, which aims to promote safe, orderly, and regular migration while supporting international workforce mobility and strengthening cooperation between India and European countries.
